Taping

Taping is a therapeutic tool utilised by therapists in a variety of settings, such as Sport, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Paediatrics, and many others. It is used to provide support to injured structures, reduce pain and swelling, improve biomechanical alignment for normal movement, increase stability, and enhance proprioception (the sense of joint position).
At David Cowan Physiotherapy, we generally use two common types of tape: Rigid sports strapping and Kinesiology taping. In addition to the different tape types, a variety of taping techniques are used for different body parts, depending on the injury or condition and the intended purpose. We select the most appropriate taping method for your injury or pain to support your rehabilitation or enhance performance.
